I have Ben Terrett, the so-called Anonymous Graphic Designer, to thank for convincing me - by example - that it was time to claim a small place in the blogosphere. Thanks Ben (and if you're in any way interested in design you should read his blog every day).
Whether I live up to his example and post (almost) every day, only time will tell.
But this is the start, and in the spirit of always seeking to work with people who are better than you, I'm starting at the top.
Quentin Blake’s latest work on hospital ward
Having created sixteen delightful pictures for the corridors and public rooms of Kershaw Ward at the South Kensington and Chelsea Mental Health Centre, Quentin Blake went on to create pictures for the patients’ bedrooms. The ward needed nineteen pictures - one for each bedroom - but Quentin got carried away on a wave of inspiration and made over sixty drawings.
Quentin wrote that he found himself following two main paths with these drawings - one was a series of far-fetched decorative birds, the other a set of more subdued images of old and young people together.
The bedrooms all now have a picture - and the full set of the sixty original watercolour drawings are on display in the reception area of the hospital. This exhibition is open to the public and is on until January 2007.

Thanks for the kind comments. Welcome to the blogosphere. It's fun.

Hi Ben
Glad to see you're on board already. You've given me a lot to live up to - but I'm up to giving it a go!

That's very interesting; Quentin Blake is unquestionably brilliant. You never know what your kids will get into but our 3 year old loves Quentin Blake stuff. That makes us very happy.
Thanks for listing Ace Jet. Might "borrow" that Websites as Graphs link from Celsius, if you don't mind.

Hi Richard
Glad to have you on board. By all means 'borrow' the websites as graphs thingy - after all, I 'borrowed' it from somewhere else (can't remember where though).
You're spot on with Quentin Blake - the mark of a true master is making it all look so effortless. And the appeal to children, because it looks so simple.
My introduction to Quentin was (I think) via Michael Rosen http://www.michaelrosen.co.uk . If you can get hold of a copy of 'Quick, let's get out of here' you'll have hours of fun reading it to your boys.
